MBBS Admission in KASTURBA HEALTH SOCIETY’S MAHATMA GANDHI INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCE, SEVAGRAM
Kasturba medical college had started to run in the year 1969. Its the first rural medical college in India started by Dr. Sushila Nayyar. The hospital started in 1944 by Mahatma Gandhi. The courses offered in the college are MBBS, MD/MS, and a diploma in Medicine and surgery. Every year 100 students are enrolled of which half are from Maharashtra and the other half are from across the country. Earlier the institute had a special reservation of rural students but after 2017 students are selected on the basis of NEET-PG and NEET-UG. Based on the performance of students the college offers post-graduate training in almost all the subjects of medical science. In the period of 24 hours the Kasturba hospital 1700 patients access, 1800 prescriptions, 270 patients go radiotherapy, 65 ultrasound, 20 units blood transfused, 12 babies are delivered, 14 undergoes surgery, 14 computed tomography, 20 cytology and more. The college offers a social service camp in which the students has to go to villages for the and are allotted a certain number of families. They stay there for 15 days to understand major rural health problems and their solution.
